UTICA CITY FC'S FUTURE SHINES BRIGHT: 2023 MASL PRO PLAYER DRAFT RECAP

UTICA, NY — With anticipation and excitement in the air, indoor soccer hopefuls, coaches, league staff, and fans alike converged at the Utica University Nexus Center for the 2023 MASL Pro Player Draft, eager to witness the next chapter in the league's history. After a weekend packed full of games and evaluations, General Manager Tommy Tanner, Head Coach Hewerton Moreira, and Captain Nate Bourdeau were on hand at the draft table representing UCFC. Utica City FC made three selections in the draft:

First Round: Emmanuel Belliard

Second Round: Louis “DJ” Albert

Third Round: Abdullahi Gedow

Captain Nate Bourdeau provided his evaluation of all three picks:

Emmanuel is very technical and like many players in our league, he comes from a futsal background. He is very comfortable on the ball and should fit into our system well.

DJ is a strong/physical target defender that knows his role well. He adds a different profile than most of our defenders and comes from previous indoor experience.

Abdullahi is a local player that has good anticipation. He is very hard working and can play both sides.
