UTICA CITY FC ACQUIRES TAYLOR BOND AND TRADES TAVERNESE

Utica, NY - General Manager Tommy Tanner announced today that Utica City FC has completed two trades: acquiring Taylor Bond from the Harrisburg Heat for cash and sending Joey Tavernese to the Florida Tropics for future considerations. Per league and team policy, no additional detail of the move will be released.

Bond, a native of St. Charles, MO, has an illustrious ten-year career across the MASL under his belt with stops with the Chicago Mustangs, Cedar Rapids Rampage, Tacoma Stars, San Diego Sockers, and Florida Tropics. Bond hopes to emulate his scoring touch from his exemplary 2016-17 season in Chicago in which he netted 40 goals and 14 assists through just 20 games. Bond has scored three goals and four assists across 12 games in the 2022-23 campaign. He was recently involved in a trade that sent him and former Florida Tropics star to Harrisburg for Raphael Araujo and other considerations on February 4th.

Tommy Tanner is eager for Bond to join the City, saying: "I am excited to have Taylor with our team. Taylor has consistently scored goals in our league and will add a physical presence up front. He is big, strong and very active. The fans will really enjoy watching him."

Tavernese will return to the Florida Tropics for the second time in his career. He suited up for them in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, tallying 27 points in 25 games. Tanner had nothing but positive things to say about Tavernese, stating that "Joey is a true professional and I only wish him the best in Florida."

Utica City FC's next game is at home against the Milwaukee Wave on Sunday, February 19th for Utica Weekend. Tickets are available at http://ucfctickets.com/.
