HAT TRICKS FROM MOMO, SEGURA LEAD UTICA TO SEVENTH STRAIGHT WIN

Utica, N.Y. – Utica City FC got hat tricks from Momo and Cristhian Segura as they rolled to a 7-2 win over the Rochester Lancers Sunday afternoon at the Adirondack Bank Center. Moises Gonzalez also scored for Utica, while Andrew Coughlin made 10 saves on 12 shots to help the team to their seventh straight victory.

Momo got Utica on the board four and a half minutes into the game, sneaking a low shot from the left side under the keeper. Zikret Osmic tied the game at one four minutes later. Segura put Utica back on top with a thunderbolt from the top of the box with 40 seconds to go in the opening quarter.

Momo scored again 3:43 into the second quarter after Onua Obasi crossed up his defender and floated a pass to Momo, who finished with a header. Anthony Rozzano responded with a power play goal with 8:37 to go in the quarter. Momo added his third of the game when Bo Jelovac found him on the back post for the tap in with 2-11 to go in the quarter. Coughlin came up with two huge saves in the final 15 seconds of the first half to give Utica a 4-2 lead heading into the break.

Segura netted his second of the game when his long shot deflected off of a Rochester defender and into the top corner two minutes into the third.

Segura scored his third halfway through the fourth quarter, taking an outlet pass from Obasi, dribbling around the keeper and burying his shot. Gonzalez pushed Utica’s lead to 7-2 at the 7:58 mark of the fourth, poking a sliding shot from the right side past the keeper. Coughlin and the Utica defense shut things down in the final seven minutes to secure the win.
