MILWAUKEE SCORES IN FINAL SECONDS, BEATS UTICA CITY

Milwaukee, WI – Utica City FC visited the Milwaukee Wave on Friday night and battled through the final seconds. Milwaukee won the game in the final 8 seconds with a game winning goal, and ended a 7-6 win.

The first quarter started with a pair of Wave goals. Alex Bradley and Daniel Mattos gave them a 2-0 lead 5 minutes into the game. Slav Ubiparipbovic got Utica City on the board at 6:19 of the first and put UCFC in the game.

The teams would trade goals for the rest of the quarter with Ian Bennett scoring for Milwaukee and Cristhian Segura adding a tally for Utica City. Mikey Herrerra then scored for Milwaukee and Ubiparipbovic got another for Utica City. The Wave led 4-3 at the end of the first. It was the most goals scored in a first quarter this season for Utica City.

UCFC would burry two in a row in the second quarter. Bo Jelovac got the first one to tie the game at four 2:56 into the quarter. Moises Gonzalez found the back of the net with two seconds left in the half, and UCFC carried a 5-4 win into the break.

After an offensive onslaught in the first half, it took 11 minutes in the second half for either team to score. Milwaukee’s Ian Bennett buried the game tying goal at 11:29. In the fourth, Utica City would score their final goal. Moises Gonzalez elevated in the box and kicked home the goal to give UCFC a 6-5 lead.

Milwaukee would later tie the game with another goal from Bennett with six attackers. With 8 seconds remaining, Derek Huffman smoked a ball to the top right corner of the cage and sealed the 7-6 win for the Wave.

UCFC fell to 2-6 in the loss. They were outshot 31-25 in the loss. Utica City returns home Sunday against the Ontario Fury at 2 P.M. to celebrate Ted Lasso Day. Tickets are still available at uticacityfc.com/tickets
