SOCKERS OVERPOWER UTICA CITY ON THE ROAD
The San Diego Sockers used a balanced scoring attack to pull away from Utica City FC and secure an 11–4 victory on Sunday night. After an early exchange of goals in the opening period, San Diego began to separate themselves by scoring three times in the first quarter and added another in the second to take a 4–1 lead into halftime.
San Diego extended the margin in the third period, highlighted by a penalty kick conversion from Kraig Chiles and goals from Felipe Gonzalez, Cesar Cerda and Juan Salazar. Utica showed resilience with goals from Kyle Gehnrich and Sergio Pinal to briefly cut into the deficit, but the Sockers continued to capitalize on transition opportunities and offensive pressure.
In the fourth quarter, Utica added one more through Pinal while attacking with six players, but San Diego closed the match with four unanswered goals to seal the result. Tavoy Morgan recorded two goals for the Sockers, while Adrian Reyes and Juan Salazar each added multi-point performances in a dominant road win for San Diego.
