QUICK LOOK: Utica City FC (0-2) will host their third consecutive home game as the Harrisburg Heat come to town for the first game of their season. Kickoff is set for 7 P.M. at the Adirondack Bank Center.

SUNDAY SCARIES: In their second test of the season, Utica City FC fell to the Baltimore Blast 7-3. UCFC led 3-1 in the second quarter, but 5 unanswered goals sealed the deal for the Blast in route to their second win of the year. Utica City outshot the blast 34-22, and Moises Gonzalez earned first star of the game with a three point night (2 G, 1 A). Nate Bourdeau was second on the team with 7 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Andrew Coughlin made 9 saves on 15 shots.

GIMME GIMME MOI: Moises Gonzalez was electric on Sunday. After missing the first game of the year, he showed up big in the first half. The Texas native would have a role in each of Utica City’s three goals. UCFC grabbed their largest lead of the day with another Tally from Gonzalez to make it 3-1. He earned first star of the game. Last year, Gonzalez scored 23 goals and added 13 assists in 20 games.

HEAT CREEPING IN: Utica will host Harrisburg in the first game for the heat since the season was cut short in 2019-20. The last game for the Heat was against Utica City in Harrisburg. The Heat won 5-3 thanks to a Hatrick from William Banahene. UCFC led 2-0 at 4:31 of the second quarter, but Harrisburg buried four in a row to pull ahead. Moises Gonzalez had a two point night for UCFC. Nate Bourdeau and Jake Schindler each had assists. Harrisburg finished that season 13-8 with a +35 goal differential.

UCFC AFTER DARK IS BACK: One of the most anticipated events of the season returns to Utica. A building packed with energy will feature $3 Beers, an ugly sweater party and koozies with bottle openers as the Biergarten Giveaway. This is just the second ever Friday night game for Utica City. The first Friday night game was December 31st, 2020 when Utica City moved to 8-3 with a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Ambush. Nate Bourdeau and Cristhian Segura both scored in the game.
