UTICA, BALTIMORE SQUARE OFF FOR FINAL TIME THIS SEASON

Today’s Game: Utica City takes on the Baltimore Blast for the final time this season. Kickoff is at 2pm. 

Last Game: Cristhian Segura had two goals and four assists, Jake Schindler chipped in with two goals and an assist, and Liam Callahan added two late goals in Utica City FC's 10-6 victory over the Harrisburg Heat Saturday night at the Adirondack Bank Center. Ricardo Diegues also scored a pair of goals, while Uroš Momić and Onua Obasi scored one apiece. Andrew Coughlin made six saves on 12 shots in the win.

Head to Head: This is the third of four matches between Utica and Baltimore. City leads the season series 2-1 and won the most recent contest 7-6 in overtime on December 14. Utica has outscored the Blast 18-16 through three games. 

Scouting the Blast: Baltimore comes in with a record of 3-4 and sits in sixth place in the Eastern Division. They most recently beat the Rochester Lancers 11-0 last night. Vini Dantas leads the offense with 15 points, followed by Tony Donatelli with 12 points. William Vanzela is the top goalkeeper with a record of 3-2, a 5.03 goals-against average, and .701 save percentage.

Full Steam Ahead: Utica City has been on a roll since suffering a season-opening loss. Utica has won five games in a row since that loss, the longest winning streak in team history. City has outscored their opponents 34-18 during their winning streak. 

Mighty Mouse Soars: Cristhian Segura continues to pile up points for Utica. Segura notched six points (2-4-6) in last night’s win, a new career high. He has also matched or surpassed his goal and assist totals from last season. Segura leads Utica with 15 points (6-9-15) in six games this season.

Streaking: Another game, another goal for Ricardo Diegues. Diegues struck twice last night to bring his goal streak to five games. He has scored at least one goal in every game he’s played in and also has three multi-goal games during that stretch. The forward has 11 points (10-1-11) in five games this year.

Finding His Stride: Momo is beginning to hit his stride in his first MASL season. The forward is becoming more and more of an offensive threat in every game and is an effective shooter as well. Momo has four points (4-0-4) and a 50% shooting percentage through six games.
