UTICA CITY FC ANNOUNCES 2021-22 SIGNINGS

Thursday, January 20th- Utica City FC announced the signing of Hewerton Moreria on Thursday. Hewerton has enjoyed a 15-season career as a player, appearing in 296 games and posting 196 goals and 170 assists. He played for the Milwaukee Wave, San Diego Sockers,  and the St. Louis Ambush. He won three league championships during his seven years with the Wave. He will return home in his first game with Utica City as they take on the Wave in Milwaukee.

Friday, December 17th- UCFC announces the addition of Juan Alava. An Ecuador native, Alava joins Utica City after finishing his college career with Southern Connecticut State University. His senior season he started 16 of their 17 games and was second on the team with five points. He was also a two time All-American at Nassau Community College.

Wednesday, December 15th- Utica City signs Alencar Ventura Junior. He returns to the City after playing with the U.S. Futsal national team at the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania. He played three games for Utica City in the 2019-20 season. His other indoor experience includes stints with the Turlock Express and Cedar Rapids Rampage.

Wednesday, December 1st - Utica City signs Christhian Segura. In 2019-20 with UCFC, Segura scored 25 goals and 12 assists for a total of 37 points. He was aquired by UCFC ahead of the 2019-20 season from the San Diego Sockers.

Tuesday, November 30th - Utica City signs Rafa Godoi. Godoi played collegiately at the University of West Florida and Genesee Community College. He started 13 out of 14 games as a senior at West Florida. Godoi played for the Rochester Lancers in the 2019-20 season.

Tuesday, November 23rd - UCFC signs Quenton Swift. An Enfield, CT native, Swift played for the Baltimore Blast in the 2019-20 season. He received a Bachelors in Business Management from the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford.

Thursday, November 18th - UCFC signs Issak Somow. A native of Kenya, Somow moved to Utica NY in 2006. Somow played for Herkimer College after attending Proctor High School. At Herkimer he led the team in assists as a freshman and helped the Generals reach the National Tournament semi-finals. Somow had 17 goals and 5 assists for 39 points and 6GW goals with Mohawk Valley CC. He has continued to develop his game with local club Krajisnik FC and Syracuse FC in the NPSL and UPSL.

Wednesday, November 17th - UCFC signs 2021 MASL Champion Ben Ramin. Ramin Returns to Utica after winning the MASL title on loan with San Diego. During his career as a defender, Ramin has demonstrated the ability to mark up a tough forward or to join the attack when the opportunity arises. In the 85 games he has played since 2017, Ramin has scored 24 goals and assisted another 18 goals.

Thursday, November 11th - Utica City signs Vittorio Petrera. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, Petrera played at Mohawk Valley Community College before turning pro. He enters his 8th professional indoor season.

Tuesday, November 9th - Utica City signs Ronaldinho Diniz. Diniz played two seasons for Boston College in 2018 and 2019. The Brockton, Mass native attended Saint Andrew's School prior to his time at BC.

Thursday, November 4th - UCFC announces the signing of Joey Tavernese. The Queens, NY native currently lives in Long Island and is entering his 10th professional indoor season. In 2017-18 Tavernese was Second Team ALL-MASL, he has amassed 123 games played, 133 goals, 86 assists, 219 points, and 44 blocks in his career. Tavernese is a former member of the US Futsal National Team.

Tuesday, November 2nd - Goldman, a native of Manlius, N.Y., joins the team for his second year. He attended Ithaca College from 2011-13, where he appeared in 28 career games, recording seven goals and three assists. earning Honorable Mention All-Empire 8 as a freshman and First Team All-Empire 8 as a sophomore. He transferred to NYU in 2014, recording two goals and three assists in 13 games. 

Thursday, October 26th - Utica City FC signs former Nazareth Goalkeeper Brian Wilkin. Wilkin will play in his second professional indoor season after playing 14 games with the Rochester Lancers in 2019-20. In 62 career games with Nazareth, he posted a 0.86 goal against average.

Tuesday, October 26th - Utica City signs Onua Obasi. A Birmingham, England native, Obasi currently resides in Ottawa with his wife and kids. He will be playing in his fourth professional indoor season. Obasi has played 54 games and scored 21 goals. In 2014-15 he was an MASL All-Rookie selection. He has also won an MASL and USL championship in 2015.

Thursday, October 21st - UCFC announced the signing of veteran defender Dominco Vitale. He will be with UCFC for his 9th professional indoor season. Over his career, Vitale has played in 117 games with 15 goals, 15 assists and 98 blocks. Vitale is a North Syracuse native who attended Le Moyne College. He currently lives in Liverpool, NY with his fiance Lucy and owns Giovanni's Tuxedos in Syracuse.

Tuesday, October 19th  - Utica City announces the signing of Pat Thompson. From Norfolk, Virginia, Thompson has played 9 professional seasons including 128 games. He has racked up 37 goals and 68 blocks. He currently lives with his wife Lisa and two daughters in Pennsylvania. 

Thursday October 14thUCFC signs Logan Roberts. Roberts will play his third season with UCFC after a two year stint with the Syracuse Silver Knights. Former member of the Binghamton University Mens soccer team, the 6’2’’, 170-pound defender gained significant experience last season in the MASL where he established himself as a key defender in the league.

Tuesday, October 12th - UCFC Announces the signing of Goalkeeper Andrew Coughlin. Coughlin will begin his 6th season in the MASL and 3rd with Utica. He has played 85 career MASL games. The 6-0, 175lb keeper played for both Syracuse University and Canisius College. He finished his collegiate career with seven school records including single-season records for shutouts (8), goals-against average (.85) and wins (9). He was voted to the 50th anniversary All-Canisius XI First Team. Coughlin was named WNY Goalkeeper of the Year in 2014 and 2015.

Thursday, October 7th – Brownsville, Texas native Moises Gonzalez signs with Utica City FC. Gonzalez enters his 7th season as a professional with 126 goals, 58 assists and 27 blocks. It will be his second season with UCFC. He received back to back All-MASL Honorable Mention honors in 2018-19 and 2019-20. He currently lives in Texas with his wife and three kids.

Monday, October 4th – Utica City FC announces the signing of Nate Bourdeau. The 31-year-old Syracuse Native will play his 10th season of professional soccer. He played for Utica City FC for two seasons and joins Bo Jelovac as a captain in Utica. In 2019-20, Bourdeau scored 11 goals and had 13 assists for 24 points.

Thursday, September 30th – Utica City FC signs Jake Schindler back from Rochester. The Rochester native is entering his 10th professional indoor season. He has played 166 games as a professional with 39 goals, 49 assists and 150 blocks. He earned All-MASL honors in 2018-19 and 2019-20. For the 2019-2020 season he was named Utica City FC Defensive MVP.

Tuesday September 28th - Utica City FC Announced the signing of Bo Jelovac, our captain. The 6-3, 195-pound forward joins The City for his third year. In 2019, he was 4th on the team with 14 goals and tied for second on the team with 36 points. Prior to Utica, Bo signed with the Syracuse Silver Knights in 2012 and was a team captain from 2015 to 2017. He received the Silver Knights Unsung Hero award in 2014, earned All-MISL Second team of the year in the 2013-14 season, and has made the MISL and MASL team of the week multiple times.

Thursday September 23rd ---- Utica City FC announced the first signing of the 2021-2022 season, Darren Toby. Toby enters his 10th professional season following three consecutive All-MASL selections. In 2018-2019 he was named MASL Defender of the Year and was 1st team ALL-MASL. The Trinidad native currently lives in Baldwinsville, NY with his wife and son.
