UTICA CITY FC COMPLETES BLOCKBUSTER TRADE TO ACQUIRE FRANCK TAYOU

Utica, NY – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) approved a trade this morning between the Empire Strykers and Utica City FC. Utica City acquired MASL superstar Franck Tayou in exchange for Stefan Mijatovic and Quenton Swift.

Commonly referred to as “The King”, Tayou is a four-time MASL MVP and the league’s all time leader in goals, points, game-winning goals, and single season goals. Tayou has dominated the league since 2014, having amassed 488 points in 181 games. Last season with Empire, he posted 38 goals and 16 assists, totaling 54 points.

General Manager Tommy Tanner is incredibly excited about the move.

“We’re thrilled to have acquired such an outstanding talent in the league. I truly consider him one Franck to be one of the top two targets out there right now,” Tanner said. “He is the type of player that can bring our organization up another level and I can’t wait for our fans to get behind him. We want to thank both Stef and Q for their contributions to our organization and wish them the best of luck.”

Head Coach Hewerton Moreira sang Tayou’s praises.

“He’s a powerhouse on the field, brings leadership and goal-scoring prowess to Utica City. With his presence, he elevates the performance of those around him, and together we are driven to achieve championship glory. His love for working with the community is truly admirable. It's wonderful to have someone like him who not only excels on the field but also contributes to the betterment of the community. I’m super excited to see him wearing our uniform this season.”

Tayou will join the team for training camp and take the field on December 2nd against the Harrisburg Heat at the home opener. Tickets are still available at ucfctickets.com.
