UTICA CITY FC SIGNS LOCAL SOCCER STANDOUT ISSAK SOMOW

Utica, N.Y. - UCFC General Manager Tommy Tanner and Head Coach Ryan Hall  announced today that Utica City FC has signed Issak Somow ahead of the 2021-22 season. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 

A native of Kenya, Somow moved to Utica NY in 2006. Somow played for Herkimer College after attending Proctor High School. At Herkimer he led the team in assists as a freshman and helped the Generals reach the National Tournament semi-finals. Somow had 17 goals and 5 assists for 39 points and 6GW goals with Mohawk Valley CC. He has continued to develop his game with local club Krajisnik FC and Syracuse FC in the NPSL and UPSL.

"I’m looking forward to play for my home city,” Somow said. “I see this as another opportunity to develop my game and take it to a whole new level. It's a new challenge and I can't wait to get started"

"We are very excited to have signed Issak for the upcoming 2021-22 season,” Hall said. “He is a tremendously talented player that will bring a lot of versatility to this team."

The Major Arena Soccer League represents the highest level of professional indoor soccer in the world. The MASL features teams across North America, with teams playing coast-to-coast in the United States and Mexico, and players from over 15 countries. The MASL is currently incorporated as a 501(c)6 not for profit corporation formed to promote the business and sport of indoor soccer.

 The 2021 MASL season is set to kick-off in late November
