UTICA CITY FC COOKS UP A ONE-GAME REBRAND AS UTICA RIGGIES

UTICA, NY - In a first in the Major Arena Soccer League, Utica City FC will be rebranding as the Utica Riggies for one night only during their January 21st game vs. the Texas Outlaws. This rebrand draws from the local Central New York dinner staple (chicken riggies). The dish typically consists of chicken, rigatoni pasta, and a spicy, creamy tomato sauce. The sauce is often made with ingredients such as tomatoes, cream, bell peppers, onions, garlic, and various spices.

The team will be wearing Utica Riggies jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.

The new face of the brand is Toni, a lovable noodle who's always up for a spaghet-together at the Adirondack Bank Center.

Vice President of Creative Services Eric Kowiatek had the following to say about his culinary creation:

“It’s been a fun process to chop up the Utica City FC brand and cook something so saucey. We think the Utica Riggies brand is the perfect recipe, combining Utica’s favorite dish with the excitement and fun of a Utica City game. For one night only, our fans will be served something new and they will taste the fact that nothing is impastable.”

Limited quantities of merchandise will be available at a later date. Follow along on UCFC's social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). Tickets for the game are still available at ucfctickets.com
