UTICA CITY GOES FOR WEEKEND SWEEP AGAINST LANCERS

Today’s Game: Utica City FC returns home to take on the Rochester Lancers. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Last Game: Nate Bourdeau and Cristhian Segura each netted hat tricks as Utica City cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Rochester Lancers Friday night at the ROC Dome Arena. Moises Gonzalez and Bo Jelovac also scored for Utica. Andrew Coughlin made 14 saves on 16 shots in the win. 

Head to Head: This is the fourth and final meeting between Utica and Rochester this season. Utica leads the season series 3-0 and won the most recent match 8-2 back on Friday night. City has outscored the Lancers 28-6 through three games. 

Scouting the Lancers: Rochester comes in with a record of 0-18 and sits in last place in the Eastern Division. They most recently fell to the Baltimore Blast 6-5 in overtime last night. Anthony Rozzano paces the offense with 15 points, followed by Diego Mayanga with 12 points. Brian Wilkin is the leading goalkeeper with a record of 0-10-1, a 9.73 goals-against average, and .612 save percentage.

Home Cookin’: Utica City returns to the friendly confines of the Adirondack Bank Center for today’s match. City has played well at home this season, winning three straight games and outscoring opponents by a 22-13 margin. Overall, Utica is 6-1 at home this year, beating opponents by a combined score of 44-27.

Eight Ball: Utica City has been lighting it up on offense recently. City has scored eight goals in three consecutive games. They have also scored eight or more goals in five of their last six games. Utica is averaging 7.2 goals per game with a +41 goal differential.
