Utica, N.Y. – Utica City FC General Manager Tommy Tanner announced today that the club has re-signed goalkeeper Andrew Coughlin, midfielder and captain Nate Bourdeau, and forward/defender and captain Bo Jelovac. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Coughlin finished last season with a record of 13-4, a 4.88 goals-against average, a .681 save percentage while adding five assists on offense. He also won seven straight starts from January 19 to February 29. Coughlin was awarded the team’s Best Defender award for the 2019-20 season. The Syracuse, NY native earned the league’s second highest number of wins for the 2019-20 season.
Jelovac set new offensive career highs for the second straight season, tallying 36 points (15-21-36) in only 20 games played in a shortened season. For the second season he was awarded the team’s award for Player with the Most Heart. He also hit the league’s leader boards for both game-winning goals and assists. The 32-year old pro is entering his ninth season in the MASL.
Bourdeau recorded 20 or more points for the third consecutive year, putting up 24 points (11-13-24) in 20 games and tying his career-best in assists. The second-year co-captain and Rutgers University product also represented the U18 US National team in Japan and was part of the Rochester Rhinos’ 2015 USL Championship team.
"These three have been pillars of our team for many seasons," said Tommy Tanner, general manager. "I'm thrilled to have them back together as the core of our team for another season as we continue to push to bring the cup home to Utica."
